For Your Pup

Not only because I want to show off my precious pups… meet Jasper and my sister Megan’s love bug, Ammo! But, because I want to show you how easy it is to create your very own dog treats with simple ingredients you most likely have stocked in your kitchens! No preservatives or unknown ingredients… just the food that us humans eat and your dogs will be able to taste as a treat!

What you will need:

  • 1 cup flour ( wheat if you have it)
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup of cold water
  • 1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp sunflower seeds
  • 1 tbsp raisins
  • 1tbs baking powder

( Of course, check with your veterinarian to be sure that these are safe for your pup to indulge in!)

Just simply combine the ingredients all together! They will form into a ball of dough. Kneed the dough slightly then dust flour on your counter and roll it out.

Dogs just love peanut butter, and the seasoned bread crumbs will make it savory while the raisins offer them a sweet chew! The olive oil and egg are great for your dogs fur and will prevent doggie dandruff.

Now, roll out your dough to about 1/2 inch thick. Now, grab anything in your kitchen that you can press into the dough and will make a shape! Because who has dog bone cookie cutters laying around… if you do, touche. Or just grab a pairing knife and get crafty! Either way, your pup will not care what shape his or her treat is. Next, put your treats on a non stick tray, sprayed with some cooking spray ( for assurance) and let them back in a 350 degree oven for 15-20 minutes.  The treat will be dense and rich with goodies when they are finished.

Jasper absolutely loves these things.

Even put them in some cute packaging and give all the puppy loves in your life some treats!!
